Dysport® is a type of medicine that is injected directly into the affected muscles of the arms or legs by a medical specialist.
It helps to temporarily block the signals from the brain that tell the affected muscles to contract or spasm, usually for months.
The response to treatment may be different for each patient. In most patients, improvement is seen after only 1 week of treatment. The most pronounced effect is expected after 2 weeks of application. In that period, robotic rehabilitation is recommended as individual kinesitherapy. This rehabilitation protocol, which is applied in all world neurorehabilitation centers, provides reliable and long-lasting results.
Preventiva 99 is the only center in the Balkans that combines these two procedures. Approximately 3 out of 4 patients have a positive response to the treatment in the 4th week, as measured by a reduction in stiffness in the muscles of the elbow, wrist or fingers. Most patients need a repeat treatment between 12 and 16 weeks.
